HOUSTON, (March 19, 2019) Station Houston, growing hub for startup technology companies, corporate innovation and entrepreneurship, is pleased to announce the appointment of Deanea LeFlore as Director of Community Engagement, Partnerships and Education.

In this newly created role, LeFlore will work to grow Station’s partnership base and further cultivate its reach within the Houston community by creating new education opportunities and mediums for local business owners and startups.

Founded just three years ago, with a core mission to transform Houston into a thriving, connected high-tech ecosystem, Station has grown its membership base to 400 individual members, 200 startups, and 130 mentors. With strategic, academic and Fortune 500 partners, including Rice University, Chevron and Silicon Valley Bank, LeFlore's goal is to proactively identify Houston’s startups’ challenges and develop new programming to take their businesses to new heights.

“My passion is promoting Houston as a world-class place to invest, work and live, and I am thrilled to join an organization that embodies this same spirit,” said LeFlore. “Station’s dedication to accelerating Houston’s tech growth through collaboration and innovation compliments my professional experience and I look forward to opening our doors to new partners, expanding programming with our long-time supporters, and introducing Station to a new network of leaders.”

Prior to joining Station Houston, LeFlore served as Chief of Protocol for the City of Houston, and a Vice President of the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau. An American Leadership Forum Senior Fellow, LeFlore has extensive experience collaborating with key players of the Houston innovation scene, including the Mayor’s office and the University of Houston. LeFlore also brings significant experience connecting Houston to international organizations and governments, overseeing the Houston visits of more than 2,000 heads of state, cabinet-level ministers and ambassadors, building relations with more than 90 consulates, and serving as President of Casa Cultural de las Americas. LeFlore will leverage her international experience to grow Station Houston’s global partnerships and presence in her new role.

“Deanea LeFlore’s enthusiam for helping Houston reach its untapped potential, paired with her deep experience in civic leadership, make her an outstanding addition to the growing Station Houston team,” said Gabriella Rowe, CEO of Station Houston. “We look forward to strengthening our foothold in Houston under Deanea’s leadership.”
