Station 3.0 Anniversary & Launch Party Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Station 3.0 Anniversary & Launch Party! If you were one of our 600+ (!!!) friends who experienced 3.0 first-hand, you know that Station Houston is fertile ground for startups to launch and grow.

 

The program was a true celebration of #HOUtech - from Mayor Turner calling out Houston as “Silicon BAYOU”, to Station CEO Gaby Rowe sharing her insights on the transformation of Houston as construction for The Ion building commences, to pitches from four #HOUtech startups. We hope that you left the evening just as pumped as we are for this transformation that our city is fully engaged in!

Mayor Turner give Houston its newest nickname #SiliconBayou - What we're building here is uniquely Houston, call us Silicon Bayou. During opening remarks, Mayor Turner set the stage for Houston's future competing with cities across the world. In a way that is "uniquely Houston", he cited the diversity of people, thought and industry as our biggest competitive advantage.  Mayor3.0-1

 

 

Rice talks plan for 'The Ion' - Plans and an official name for midtown innovation district's anchor building - The Ion - were released just hours before Station 3.0. Allison Thacker, President & CIO of Rice Management Company, took the stage to give a few words on the the project breaking ground this May.  TheIon-1

 

The HoustonVR Lab at Station Houston launches - The AR/VR Lab was the clear people's choice for the most exciting part of Station's space revamp. Attendees had the chance to demo experiences from three AR/VR startups that came to Houston just for this event.  TheHoustonVRLab-1
